Playing with Dragonflies!

I am seriously in love with the real vintage Czech Glass buttons and beads. Not the cheap imitations from other countries, but the real thing. Hand carved and painted, every color imaginable, and absolutely gorgeous!

So I ask you-how can you choose? They are all beautiful and dramatic and maybe just a little bit eccentric as well. Everything I love. I hope you like them as well as me because I hope to make more, more and even more of them!

 Learning about The Middle Path and Mala Bracelets

Recently I created a necklace for someone who asked for The Path of Eight-or The Middle Way in my wire wrap style. I had to admit I was unfamiliar with that so I started doing some research. What I found fits in so well with my own philosophy of life I decided to expand my offerings to now include both of these styles of jewelry in my etsy shop. Living a mindful life is important to me. I believe we all make a difference on this planet with our actions which is why I have always been one to recycle and repurpose. 

 I understand that a lot of folks out there make Mala bracelets and necklaces but I think my own spin on this can be seen of course in my use of color, as well as my use of repurposed beads. I have a large quantity of Vintage Czech Glass beads that I found had been in storage for over 30 years-Never Worn, Never Used! These are really the basis of a lot of what I do because they are not only repurposed, they are absolutely gorgeous! Made using techniques and colors no longer used, they are considered by many to be the best in the world for quality and color. The lustrous colors get to me every time!

Modern Twist on the traditional Charm Bracelet.

So. I have been thinking a lot about charm bracelets and how they continue to be popular year after year with so many people. I started thinking that I could do something a little bit different than the standard. So here is what I cam up with.

Now, first of all it's a cuff-yes a cuff. Specifically a wired cuff. This happens to be one I found on eBay. I scuffed it up a bit to make it less shine and worked on the patina to give it a bit more purples and browns. Then I started adding. I have been making these wire wrapped "talking pendants" for a while now, so I decided to make one as a circle rather than a pendant. I confess I have a bit of an obsession with circles which I will pursue on another occasion. 

Then I started adding the seed beads around the circle. lots of tiny colorful little vintage Czech glass beads! Time to decide on some sari silk to add a bit of extra to the cuff. So I wire on the circle and then really start to add on the extras. Put it on-take it off. It does take some time to get it right-it is not at all a haphazard affair! Plus I wanted to make sure that whether you wear this one right-side-up or upside-down, that nothing would get in the way. Last is to line them with ultra suede so they are nice and comfy on your arm.

I Love them and I will continue to make many more!

My biggest problem is listing them as I always want to keep them once they are finished!

For the spirit that resides within us, a sense of adventure-real or imagined.

 Spirit Ravens are the first of some other animals, birds and more. Natural elements, bone & leather.

More of the colorful Gypsy Soul line I have been working on. Lots of vintage beads, some sari silk and of course a sense of fun!

Some times we all need a little reminder to remember who we are, 

and how we act effects all that we do.
